Hi, I’m Pamela Maroney, and I have always been passionate about creativity, connection, and mental wellbeing. With over 20 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist working in mental health, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people build resilience and navigate life’s challenges. I’ve even co-founded a mental wellbeing service to empower others on their journey to emotional strength and self-discovery (www.kemar.org).
But my passion for creativity has also taken me down another path—one that started with paper, scissors, and a simple scrapbook project for my mum.
The Story Behind PammyPumpkin
What began as a mission to help my mother create a family scrapbook soon turned into an unexpected love for designing and crafting handmade cards. Once her album was complete, we had plenty of leftover materials, and she asked me to make a card for one of her grandchildren. Then another. And another. Before I knew it, I was hooked! There was something special about creating a card that someone would cherish and pass on to a loved one.

In 2015, I decided to turn my passion into a business—and PammyPumpkin was born! The name holds a special place in my heart: my friends have always called me Pammy, and my Dad always called me Pumpkin. It was the perfect fit.
I love designing and crafting cards so much that I go to bed and wake up thinking about it! Each piece is made with love, and nothing makes me happier than knowing my handmade creations bring joy to others.
From Handmade Cards to a Children's Book
Alongside my love of card-making, I’ve also been deeply inspired by the incredible bond between humans and dogs. Having published research* on how dogs positively impact mental health—and experiencing the profound lessons my own dog taught me (read the blog)—I felt called to share this wisdom with others.
That’s how my first children’s book came to life! It’s a heartfelt story packed with practical tools to nurture emotional resilience, self-worth, and kindness—values I’ve seen make a real difference in both my professional and personal life.
Whether through my handmade cards or my children’s book, my goal is the same: to create something meaningful and heartfelt for others to enjoy.
I hope you love my creations as much as I love making them!
